Above
all, I ask for your understanding in our need to
be flexible. To the best of our ability
we will plan and schedule our activities. However,
weather,
local contingencies, etc., make detailed or rigid
planning somewhat difficult, even counterproductive.
So please think: Flexibility. With that
in mind, your T.A.s and I will devise a rotation
schedule
for your activities at the locations where we will
be working.
We
will normally work Monday-Friday, take Saturdays
off, and plan group field trips for Sundays. Work
days begin with breakfast at 8:00 am and departure
by 8:45 am (so be ready to go before you sit down
to eat breakfast). Our field trips will include the
Orongo site complex, Rano Raraku statue quarry, Anakena
and Ahu Nau Nau, and multiple ahu sites (e.g., Te
Peu, Vinapu, Tongariki). On “rain” days
we will alter our plans accordingly (but let’s
be optimistic).
