Total Program Cost: $19,950*

(2007-2008 price)

* Cost includes Kônan University program and housing fees, two meals per day, books, ground transportation, excursions, health insurance, UHM Study Abroad and incidental fees.

The above cost does not include roundtrip airfare between Honolulu and Kobe.  Students have the option of taking the group flight arranged by the UHM Study Abroad Center.  Lunches are also not included.

The cost also does not reflect personal expenses. The amount of funds to budget in this category depends on individual spending habits. This category may include entertainment expenses such as tickets for theaters, movies and museums, participation in the local night life, eating out, shopping for gifts, emergency expenses, and personal travel.

NOTE: The above costs will fluctuate from year to year.

FINANCIAL AID
FOR UHM STUDENTS ONLY: In order to receive financial aid please ensure that either: a) you are receiving financial aid in the preceding spring semester or b) you complete the Financial Aid application during the preceding spring semester.

NON-UHM STUDENTS: (those attending other colleges and universities during the regular school year) must apply for financial aid at their home institution.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Students accepted to the program are eligible to apply for the Association of International Education, Japan Scholarship (AIEJ) awarded by the Ministry of Education. The AIEJ award is approximately $6,000. Students who do not receive the AIEJ Scholarship will receive the Kônan University Consortium Scholarship, which amounts to $2,000 per student.
