The program cost includes three excursions to various places of cultural interest in and around Haikou, known for its old southern Chinese architecture.
All
excursions sponsored by the program are designed to
enhance classroom instruction. In particular, these
excursions will serve to expose the students to the
diverse ethnic minorities within Chinese society --
some of which live only on Hainan Island. The original
inhabitants of the island, the Li and Miao (Hmong)
continue to live primarily in the dense forested areas
of the Limulingshan mountains in the center of the
island.
In addition,
students can enjoy the many beautiful beaches, mountain
hikes and biking tours.
