Frequently Asked Questions: Housing

When thinking about going abroad there are many questions that come to mind. Below are answers to commonly asked questions.

1. Can I live in my own accommodations?

No you may not. The Study Abroad Center programs all include program housing and deviating from this arrangement is not possible. If however, you are designing your own study abroad program, then of course you select your own housing.
2. What kinds of housing will I be provided?
It will depend on the program. Most programs offer homestay accommodations only where you live and have your meals with host families. Some programs offer dormitory and/or accommodations where you live with local and/international students.
3. Can I change accommodations upon arrival?
Yes, you may if it pertains to heath and safety reasons only. If it is a homestay living arrangement then you will be provided with a new host family. In case of dormitory/apartment you will be moved to another dormitory/apartment. You will not be moved from a host family to a dormitory/apartment.

4. When should I arrive and will housing accommodate me for an early arrival?
You should arrive on the date that the Study Abroad Center tells you to. Housing will be available on the designated date of arrival.
5. Will someone receive me at the airport?
A pickup arrangement will be made for group arrival. Group arrival is the flight arrival date and time designated by the Study Abroad Center. Students arriving on their own schedule will be given directions to the accommodations.
