Denmark's
International Study Program is located
in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Founded more than 800 years
ago, Copenhagen combines the excitement of a modern
metropolis with the old world charm of its medieval
origins. Today, Copenhagen is a city of more than
1.5 million inhabitants and is the center of Denmark's
political, economic and cultural life. Copenhagen
is a fun, clean, and safe city with many interesting
buildings and parks. The Danes are friendly, informal,
and quite proud of their strong democratic heritage
and high standard of living.
The
city is easy to get around in -- even without a car.
The public transportation system, a highly developed
network of trains and buses, reaches into the suburbs
where the majority of DIS students live.
Copenhagen
is situated close to Sweden, less than an hour away
by train, and is only an overnight train
ride away from many European cities.
