This new summer program, offered in conjunction with the International College of Seville and the University of Seville, offers students an opportunity to study Arabic language and Islamic culture.  Students choose 2 classes and earn 6 UHM credits for coursework completed in Seville.  The program includes field trip excursions to Cordoba and Granada (overnight).  In addition, students will spend 4 days and 3 nights in Morocco, visiting Tetouan, Fez, Meknes, and Rabat.

• Islamic Art and Architecture (taught in English) - UHM Equvalent is ART 493: Art of Islam

• Islamic Culture & History (taught in English) - UHM Equivalent is HIST 355: The Making of the Modern Middle East

APPLICATION

A completed UHM Study Abroad Center summer application, $20 application fee, and two letters of recommendation must be received by the Study Abroad Center by February 17 in order to receive consideration.  Non-UHM students must also submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
